Abstract
This research identifies the largely symbolic role of "home" in representing memories and hopes. In the context of this film, a home is not just a building; it is also a container of life with more complex values, such as memories, hopes, identity, and part of the family's social emotions. This research uses qualitative methods with Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis at three different levels: denotation, connotation, and myth. The findings indicate that the house functions as a symbol that reminds people of their memories, hopes, identity, and their relationship to socio-emotional aspects. Furthermore, the film visualizes the uncertainty of the future with the help of the tailor shop symbol, which replaces the damaged house. The characters' dialogue, "Let's Try to Build That House," symbolizes the hope of pursuing a vision to shape the future. In conclusion, the film demonstrates that an emotional space full of memories and hopes transcends the physical structure, conveying important messages about family, loss, change, and acceptance.
